Joe's Room
Joe was lucky. As
a boy he has a room to himself. It is over the kitchen so it is also cosy
in winter. The walls are distempered, a water based finish that was cheap
and easy to renew. It was thought to be healthy in bedrooms because it did
not absorb damp. Joe has a toy chest and a tiny fireplace but the furniture
is old.
